Bio

Born in Durango, Colorado in mid-50s. Grew up and educated in New Mexico, graduating from New Mexico State University with Electrical and Computer Engineering degree in 1979. Joined Hewlett-Packard (Test & Measurement) in Loveland, Colorado upon graduation. Entire career has been with HP, and the HP spinoff, Agilent Technologies, mostly in marketing, but with periodic forays into technology management and general management. Lived in Germany for a couple of years in the mid 1980s. Also lived in the Netherlands in 1989-1991 and France between 1991 and 1993. Currently living in New Jersey and working at Vision Research, a company that specializes in high-speed cameras.

Met Lynne in 1980 and we got married in 1981. No children. But, during our Germany stay we were introduced to and fell in love with Bernese Mountain Dogs and bought our first Berner, Manda, there. Over the years we have had many Berners, and got into showing with Indiana (whom we got in France in 1993). We now have three Berners (and two cats) at home.

In 2000-2001 we built a mountain cabin that has become our refuge from the hustle and bustle of the corporate world and the Colorado Front Range. There, we do a lot of walks, enjoy the wildflowers and wild life, hunt mushrooms, fish, put together puzzles, read books, talk a lot, an watch “fireplace” TV. We have a goal of living up there full time someday.

I like to cook, although I don’t do as much as I used to. I’ve attended cooking schools and classes in France and the US, and have built up a strong “intuition” around cooking as well as developed some skills. Another outcome of our time in France is an appreciation for good wine and food—and cheese. So, I’m tinkering with home cheesemaking.
