Indiana du Ruisseau Ensoleille (Indy) was bred by Daniele Porcher in France. He was born on 28 March 1993. We brought him to the United States in the summer of 1993. He began his show career in June 1995 and earned his American Championship with 4 majors in 7 shows. He went on to win more than 50 Best-of-Breed awards and 7 group placements during 1996 and 1997. Indiana died on 9 June 2003 at a little over 10 years of age.
One of Indy’s greatest features was his “type”, especially his head. By “type” we mean the aesthetics of the dog. Type includes the overall size, shape and looks of the dog, including: markings, proportions, structure, coat, etc. Type is what make a Bernese Mountain Dog a Bernese Mountain Dog. However, different people prefer different “types” within the breed.
