Everglades 2014

A nice shot of the extraordinarily clear water in the Everglades, with reeds in the background.

This was taken early in the morning with great light on the reeds behind the alligator giving me a nice reflection.

A great blue heron.

There are all kinds of frogs and snakes and turtles in addition to the abundant alligators. This little fellow was sitting next to an alligator.

I never realized how clear the water was.

I got lucky with this shot of two great blue heron siblings sitting in a nest. They are almost old enough to leave the nest.

I think this shot of a heron pruning is really creepy.

This bird spends its time in the water, swimming and looking for small fish.

After preening for a while, this bird seemed to be napping in this position.
