I want to make a larger cheese like a Stilton with 3 gallons/11 liters of milk but there are size limits to my butter muslin/cheese. I’ve seen cheese bags on some supply sites and I believe Prof. Fankhauser uses a pillow case.

What do you guys use?

U can get proper cheese cloth from wallmart at about 12$/yard, I bought mine from a cheese supplier. just remember their are 2 types , the cheap thin kind that is usual used for wrapping cheese, then the fine cloth for draining.

Walmart is evil but I get the idea. I’ll try to find it in bulk somewhere. I had no idea that was possible. Thanks for the great tip!!

Any well equipped fabric store should carry it. I bought 1 square yard then cut it into 4 and sewed the edges so it would not frey.

I kinda like the pillowcase idea at Dr. F’s site.  It would be very economical, and the cheese won’t care what it is drained through.

I agree. I just can’t decide between teddy bears or just plain white.

Ahhm, pillow cases and many other cottons are chemically treated, some people are even allergic to cotton nowadays because of all the chemicals.
