I like words.  I like learning new ones - if they’re good ones.  And I came across a really good one while researching Lipase.  The word is “piquant.”  Now doesn’t that have a nice ring to it?  Besides, I think its French, so it makes me seem cultured.  I learned that Lipase adds a “piquant” flavor to cheese.  So I had to consult Webster on that one.  Seems piquant means “agreeably pungent to the taste.”  Now that is a terrific word!  I’m going to make it my word of the week.  I can’t wait to lay it on my co-workers next week.

That is a nice word. I do believe that if one could taste the word piquant it would have a flavor that is agreeably pungent to the taste. grin
Honestly, I’ve seen the word used many times to describe the flavor/aroma of lipase but never bothered to look it up.
Thanks for the lesson.

Rich….
I just noticed something….
For the past couple of months, you and I have been plodding along through the cheesemaking forum world as “power users”. Now I see that you have abandoned me and moved on to being indispensable.
I expected you to, at some point, stop posting so we could graduate to the “next level” at the same time. Sheesh, you really let me down, man. grin
Congrats on the new title!

Dave, I apologize for being so inconsiderate.  Honestly, I had no clue that I was reaching some right of passage.  I wish, for your sake, that I could take it back.
