We were without power for four full days due to an ice storm.  My rennet, Annatto, and calcium chloride all were at room temperature for probably two days.  I’m wondering if anyone has had this experience and can tell me if they will still be viable.

Thanks in advance.

Annatto and chloride will be fine thier. Rennet i thingk will depend on room temp and quality. Most likely the Rennet will be fine.

CaCl2 - doesn’t matter if it was sealed. Annatto, same. Rennet, you likely had a 1-2% loss in viability. It’s rather sensitive to temp fluctuation, but stays stable at sub 70 F temps. Viability loss was less if this was non-animal rennet. I have tested coagulation strength in a 5-year-old bottle once and it had 5% viability loss stored at 2 F. Meaning you’re fine, keep using it smile.

Great news!  Thanks.  My cheese cave also fared well.  The temp didn’t go below 45 F, so I think all is well there too.  Thanks for the replies.
