Hi guys….
I know I haven’t been posting much lately but there is a good reason for my absence….
For the last month I have been dealing with some serious health problems that my dad has been experiencing.
We were facing a possible leg amputation, (which would have been his second in 3 years), if not for emergency surgery.
The surgery was performed two weeks ago and the day after the surgery he had a heart attack that completely complicated everything.
At this point he is doing really well and the leg looks as good as can be expected.
He will be undergoing yet another surgery on Monday to remove some flesh, that was not able to recover from the initial procedure, and to also address some signs of infection from the initial surgery.
We are not out of the woods quite yet, but things are looking better every day.
I’ve missed making cheese and have missed the interaction on this forum, but my dad’s well being is at the top of my priority list, right now.
I hope to be back in the swing of things within the next week or so and have also decided that my cheese making is no longer just a winter hobby, (yeah Rich, you finally talked me into it). I get so much enjoyment out of this hobby, I’ve decided that it is something that I need to be involved in year round, (although my makes will be reduced during the summer months).
For those of you who who practice faith, I would really appreciate your prayers for my dad and my family. I sincerely feel that prayer has taken us this far and that it can carry us through to the end.
Dave
