Horizon Brand milk- ultra pasteurized or not?

Today I noticed that Horizon’s organic whole cow’s milk says “Ultra Pasteurized” on their half gallon containers while the gallon containers say only “Pasteurized”. What?! I can’t imagine they actually have two different kinds of pasteurized whole milk, so I didn’t buy it, assuming that it’s all ultra pasteurized. BUT! Now I’m wondering about other milk labeling and how accurate their wording is. Has anyone had a similar experience with other brands? -Or, am I wrong to assume Horizon’s labeling is inaccurate? I ended up buying Berkeley Farms because I was feeling cheap and didn’t want to spend $9 for a gallon of Strauss Family milk (I don’t live near enough to farmland, so direct from a dairy is not an option when I experience a cheesemaking whim at 6 o’clock at night).
Take care,
Bobbie

As its been discussed some time ago, if in dought go for the max of 2%, its the least affected( unless u go skim) and then add cream to it. The higher the cream the more they have to screw it to keep the milk from separating etc.

Wow, r dub, that was an impressive map. Milk empire! I had some trouble opening the other link but will try again later. I’ve emailed Horizon to confirm what I saw, but it looks like they also have a whole milk with Omega 3 added, and maybe that’s ultra pasteurized while the other whole milk isn’t- I’ll let you all know. Otherwise, adding cream to 2% is a good idea too- cream in anything can’t be bad…

interesting to me as well.
When I posted the link to the map, Horizan organic was actually on the map.
Overnight, it is gone, or at least, I can’t seem to spot it again.
It is still in the header, just above the map.
wondering what’s up with that??
