This web page, an advocacy and legal defense organization for the use of raw milk for consumers, has an article on the current state of raw milk access in the USA including a map of where it is legal to purchase (and by what means.) Transport of raw milk for sale across state lines is illegal by Federal law.

Good source Rick, thanks.  Nice to know that I live in the middle of the “Farm Sales Legal” belt.

I live in the legal as pet food area. That is why they put a label on it that says NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION, USE FOR ANIMAL FOOD ONLY.

So maybe you should consider yourself an animal once in a while.  But seriously, what are the penalties for purchasing it and then using it as you see fit???

I don’t know of any penalties after you buy it. It’s kind of like drinking the Draino, as long as they put it on the the bottle that you are not supposed to drink it, nobody cares if you drink it and die.

However, I have seen a lot of conversation about whether or not you can legally give your children raw milk.  I don’t know if anybody has ever had charges pressed against them, but I bet if your child gets sick and they blame it on the raw milk someone would try to prosecute.

It’s like that bicycle helmet law. If you take your child to the emergency room from a busted head, riding a bike without a helmet, you stand a good chance of having charges brought against you.
