A couple of days ago we celebrated the Torah Giving Day. Beyond the religious aspects, the feast is characterized by mainly diary and cheese based dishes. Our “contribution” to the expanded family meal was of course a variety of cheeses and fresh baked bread. Unfortunately, my “cave” went out of order about 3 months ago. The Italico and the Cam were aged in the regular fridge.
Enjoy the colaje.

Another thing I’ve never heard of. This forum is adding to my education daily. I keep reading things that I have to look up. The cheese picture is great. Cheese and bread, the basics of life, with beer and sausage. I haven’t looked up Torah Giving Day yet but somehow I believe that I will find that sausage and beer is not included.

If variety is the spice of life, that was a “spicey” meal.

Tammy, you can read about Torah Giving Day here: http://en.wiki.org/wiki/Shavuot

Also we are not religious at all and do not keep kosher, on this feast we do not mix diary and meat, just for the sake of tradition. No problem with beer, so we drunk a lot.
All other days we eat almost everything that mooves and grows. Well, we don’t eat turtles tongue rolleye .

Neil & Rich, it was a realy “spicey” spread !!

In case the description on the pic is not readable:

In the middle there are some breads with Kalamata Olives & Red Bell Pepper filling.
Starting upper left corner CW: Labneh-Goats, Tzaziki, Fresh Spreadable Cheese, Feta, Tzfatit Cheese (fresh semi soft lightly salted), Camembert, FromEz-Soft Goats Cheese, Italico.

Do you cook your own beans or do you use canned ones. There is a big difference in taste.
