More Newcomer questions.  Specifically in regards to waxing and Hermans baby Gouda

That’s probably true about the eating more cheese….I could see that happening at our house!  About the saving money, though,  cheese is pretty cheap in the States, where I’m assuming you are.  Is it also that you don’t save anything ( not you specifically, cheesemakers in general)  because we constantly see new equipment, that sort of thing that we’d like to have?  Just wondering.  I’m doing it mostly, like I said because I love learning how to do things that most people can’t or won’t do.

with the Cream Wax its the chemical additives I didnt want

Here it is available with and without additives. I have for colors without the additives and since I have the habit to clean them once a week I don’t have any problems with mold on my coated cheeses…

Why do you need to clean them Herman?  The cream wax on my lonely cheese seems pretty tight ( is that the word?).

What do you think it costs to make it yourself, versus buy, ?

No comparison, its far cheaper to make (just have to wait at least 6 months), and in allot of cases it tastes better. I just have to get my ass in gear to make more. I will buy from the store now and then to try things out.
