Does anybody ever make cheese with nuts inside of it? I have read some recipe with pistachio’s before but I don’t remember where, and I don’t remember if the cheese was coated with the nuts or if they were inside of the cheese.
I think it might not be logical, the nuts would probably be mush, but it sounds good.
Rambol is a processed cheese with nuts. I can buy it here in every supermarket, but I’m afraid I don’t have a recipe.
I’m pretty sure there are a lot of others that I’m not aware of…
I looked up the Rambol, it appears to have walnuts in it, but that’s just from the pictures I found. I found a post on another cheese forum where someone was asking for a recipe but obviously didn’t get it. I’m going to think about it some more. A cheese with pecans or walnuts would be great.

And I’m pretty sure it was there that you saw the pictures that I added
I had a quick look in “The guide to west coast cheese” but did find a “nutty” cheese there too….
That’s why I stated “Maybe worth a try”, as I am not at all a cheese master I have made some hard cheeses (6) starter culture and salt is a must for anything cheese.

Yes Tammy, I did.
It was about three and a half years ago, a lactic type cheese with PC and with PC + charcoal washed rind.
I poached the wallnuts and pat them dry.
It was very unique and tasty as well. It is recommended to try.
Lovely pictures! I feel better now knowing that it does work. How long did the cheese age? Did the walnuts go mushy? I see that it had a nice white mold on the outside and the texture looks very nice.

Tnx Tammy,
The PC bloomed cheese is 3 weeks old and the other one 8 weeks old.
The wallnuts weren’t mushy at all.
