Hi everyone,  I know that this has been mentioned in other posts,  but I am still looking for my first PH meter, and am wondering if you will tell me what you are using ....I’m afraid my budget would top off at around $100. Can I still get something decent for that?

Thanks Neil,  I think I will be ordering the Omega one.  Would you suggest that I get the replacement “spare” probe or head or whatever it is at the same time,  I will be getting the buffer solutions as well.  Have any of you others had parts broken easily on these things?

I’m using an Omega, and I’ve had problems on two different occasions with readings not equilibrating.  I have no conclusive answer, but it may be that the probe had gotten a bit too dry.

Dont get the extra probs, they have a shelf life. buy as u need them. Always keep them moist, I bout the PH7 solution to keep it wet as well as calibration.

kinda ignorant here,  but what do you mean by keep it wet.  Do you let it sit in a container of the solution?  ( I’ve never seen a ph meter in my life.)

The end, or bulb of the meter probe will have a rubber cup over it.  Just keep some solution in that.
