Hope this does not happen to any one too often.
I was waxing two Romano cheeses on Sunday, all was going well until things got a little slippery and I dropped one of the cheeses into the wax. SPLASH!!!!! I had black wax spray all over the stove, up the wall, onto the floor (white tiles in the kitchen) I said a few swear words and got the cheese out, turned off the flame and spent about 2 hours cleaning. Black Wax is pretty hard to get off walls and the stove was almost impossible. Even with a strong hot soapy solution it took ages. Oh well we live and learn.

I think the problem was that I got wax on my fingers and it became slippery and lost the grip. It is slightly funny now but I can tell you it was not funny at the time. Wish I took a photo for you all but it was the last thing on my mind at the time

My incident wasn’t near as bad but our black stove top had tiny little red wax droplets for a few days after my last cheddar. It’s not the easiest clean up job…..

LOL, it can be a pain but the best way is to make sure the wax is cold so it can be taken of in chunks then go with a hot rag over the rest smile
