These large mushrooms grow under Aspen trees. They are quite prolific on our land. There is some controversy over their edibility with a hypothesis that there is more than one variety -- one of which is toxic. I haven't tried eating one. As they age, which happens quite fast, bugs tend to take over. Also called "orange caps", I think. Photo taken on 7/25/2004.
