Call us Crazy! “Sam I Am” Joins the Family
Tonight we brought Sam home. Sam is a 13-week old Maine Coon Cat. Here are a couple of photos. I’ll post more as comments as we take them.
He is adapting to the household and the dogs pretty well. He has Sailor scared to death—won’t walk past him. For the most part, the dogs are curious, but could care less. Ebay seems to be a bit upset. Two Shoes hasn’t a clue…
Sam’s breeders are going to be showing him in regional cat shows. Cat showing is a whole new world—one we are probably not going to get into. But, if Sam likes showing, they will take him on the occasional weekend and try to get his kitty championship (not the right vocabulary for cats, I know).
He will accompany us to New Mexico for a week in mid-April and have his first show in Colorado Springs the last weekend in April.
Stay tuned!

Sam has been doing great. In less than 24 hours, he was out with us on the sofa, purring and preening.
He has the dogs all trained to leave him alone. In fact, Sailor goes out of his way to avoid the kitten.
Daisy usually sleeps on our bed most of the night curled up around my head and up against the headboard. Last night, Sam slept there and Daisy was clearly unhappy about it, but she did not try to lay on or move the cat!
