Lifetime Guarantee
We’ve been having a lot of trouble with our cookware lately. We purchased a “high end” set of Calphalon cookware back in 1985, or so. Lately, the anodized aluminum surface has begun to fade, the pans are much harder to clean, and they just aren’t cooking as well.
So, we decided a new set of cookware was a great candidate for a Christmas gift to ourselves.
We did some research and narrowed our choices down to another set of Calphalon or to switch to All-Clad. We visited the local Bed, Bath and Beyond to look into set configurations and prices and learned that we could get our money back on our original purchase of Calphalon because of their lifetime guarantee!
The very helpful people at Bed, Bath and Beyond took a look at our original 10-piece set, agreed that they were sufficiently worn to justify a claim under their lifetime guarantee. After looking up the original set of cookware’s value, they decided to credit us $450 toward the purchase of new cookware!
We struggled with choosing between a new set of Calphalon and a new set of All-Clad. Each has their strengths and weaknesses, and each had a 10-piece set that was quite different from the other. We finally settled on a 10-piece set of Calphalon, a 2-piece add-on set from All-Clad, and a non-stick skillet from Calphalon.
All together, it was over $700 worth of new cookware. And, it cost us very little!
So, hat’s off to Calphalon for living up to their “lifetime guarantee”. And, hat’s off to Bed, Bath and Beyond for helping implement it and for being so helpful to us!
