Well, hello Gorgeous! Welcome to the world! The first of my amaryllis bloomed over the weekend. Usually they have about four buds to a stalk, but this one produced just two. The first bloom is enormous! This plant is from 2008/2009 and has bloomed every year.
So large in fact, that is has to have a little support. Wow.
My other two had yet to produce buds. That is, until today. The one that is only a year old has a bud poking up! Yesterday there was no sign of one, but today, there it is!
The other amaryllis (from 2007/2008) is still showing no signs of producing anything. Yet. I am hopeful.

Might be the prettiest amaryllis I’ve ever seen. I recently purchased one after a few years of my old ones not producing flowers. I enjoyed having this beautiful plant brightening up my days again.

Maggie, I am always delighted to have them around. This one is a double bloom, the oldest one I have is just a single bloom. The one with a bud coming is similar to this one. At least I think it is. Striped pinkish; double frills. Is yours blooming now?

Maggie, yes you do! I checked and the other one about to bloom is not the frilly kind like this one, but it is double blooming, just not with the frilly edges.
C, Thank you! And glad everything went fine this time. I know Rick will be glad to read that! (And the compliment to his site!)

Wow! You know me and flowers, but the photo of your gorgeous amaryllis is outstanding. That beauty is HUGE. You def. got the green thumb in our family.

Bigsis, thanks! I only seem to have a green thumb where christmas cacti and amaryllis are in the picture. I don’t water much and maybe they like it that way. I think NJ has had a positive influence on my green thumb capabilities!
