Happy New Year! We are off to a very soggy, foggy start to our new year. Here is the scene in our back yard as I write this entry at 12:36 p.m. Is it day? or night?  It rained overnight, nearly one inch. The yard, not frozen, has turned into a muddy mire from the dogs. Lovely. But, we are cozy and happy in our house. We just finished lunch of champagne [to toast the New Year as we went to bed before it arrived last night] and salad with poached pears and gorgonzola cheese. We just watched some of the Rose Parade. It’s pretty, but really what is the point of wasting all those gorgeous flowers? What happens to all the floats tomorrow? Truly a waste in my eyes.

Rick is out in the kitchen starting a new batch of cheese. Soon I will return to my Zelda game on our new Nintendo Wii. I need a few hours of fantasy!

I have just “found” knitting blogs and found your website through another - I think Scrumptious Living.  I just finished reading your journal entries and just love it.  Thank you for writing about your life.  Especially love the photos of the bears and where you live.  It’s fun reading about other people in the U.S.  God bless and Happy New Year and Happy belated Birthday.

Why oh why can’t I take pic’s like that?

Oh wow!  Zelda!  We just finished Final Fantasy and started Zelda.  (Video games is what DH wants from Santa)  Oh, I do love Zelda!  But I could do without the bug bombs.  It’s fun to live part of your daily life as a 12 year old, isn’t it?  Do you like the Wii better?

What is it about fog?  I feel such excitement and at the same time peace when there is fog.  Was I a salamander in previous life? Smeagol? Wonderful pic!  I can smell and feel the woods and fog just looking at it.
