I seem to be having a hard time getting started with my Cartagena posts, so I decided to start with something fun: the Mona Lisa Pub. Maybe they should have called it the Grumpy Lisa Pub. We passed this establishment several times but never found it open. No hours were posted either.
Mona Lisa featured in street art for sale as well. I'm really not sure if that's her in a state of undress or not.
So it would seem they have a tiny fascination for Mona. Who knows why!
It seems more like they have a fascination with spoofing Mona Lisa. Too bad it was never open. They may have gone out of business if it was never open!

LOL—I love the pub sign. Too bad it never opened. Maybe Cartagena is like some European cities where no one goes out until ridiculously late? I remember trying to go to a nightclub in Spain at 9 p.m. and nothing was open. It just isn’t done at that hour.
Those paintings look like Botero sculptures, don’t they?

C, yes I guess so!
Steve, we thought it was going to be like Spain too where everybody ate late, but that was not the case. Most people were sitting down at 7:00 to eat and the one night when we ate really late (9:30) the restaurant was pretty empty. Still, we didn’t do a whole lot of nightlife activity other than eating, so perhaps it was open at some point. It would have been fun to see the inside. Yes, the painting are very Botero-ish.
