New Look Revealed!

IMG 6304

Please join me in waving good-bye to the old, tired look of my membership-only blog! Bye-Bye, old ‘new’ Jersey Girl!

Welcome to the NEW ‘new’ Jersey Girl! I am now public again instead of by membership only. I hope you like the new & updated look to go along with my new chapter of blogging in 2013.

The content will remain the same as will the photography. I will be adding a weekly shot taken with my Lytro camera and I have not as yet determined what day of the week that will be.

You might notice the addition of a couple of different tab links at the top of the main blog photo. You can now click on “Weather” and be directed to our in-house weather station which will give you a view out our side window and also tell you the weather statistics as they are at that moment of your visit.

You can also click on the “Recipe” link and be taken directly to our cache of recipes that you can browse at your leisure.

Give them a try!

The “Archives” link will take you back to all the blog posts since the blog began in 2006. Some of these archival posts also show up in the right margin under “On This Day” and will show you any post I wrote on the same day of any given year. I always think it’s fun to look back and see what the weather was or what I was doing years ago. As always, the last years’ archives are also listed in the right margin, month by month.

Comment moderation is in place right now. I will turn on your comments on as quickly as I can. Old members of the private blog should be able to comment without comment moderation if they are logged in; otherwise you will need to go through the comment moderation process. It is not necessary to log in, but if you do your comment will show up immediately as the site will recognize you.

I hope you enjoy the new look and bear with me as we work out any kinks that might occur on your visit. Please let me know if you have any difficulties by clicking on “Contact Me” at the top of the blog.

Welcome aboard on my new journey!

Comments:

Am I really the very first one to visit your new page?

Love the Skylands glove waiving goodbye. You think of the quirkiest things, in a good way! I went right away to the weather, and will probably be jealously checking it every day. We will be 70 degrees again today. Yuck! But then it will get cooler (that’s 20 degrees above normal for this time of year!)

Love the updated site, so fresh! Oh and now I won’t have to go to Rick’s page to get recipes (sorry, Rick, no offense!)

Now the pets need their own site. I think it should be called Alex Sez!

Bigsis, yes you are the first for this entry! I couple of people saw it yesterday after I sent out the email prematurely and Rick went ahead and had it up and running last night. So you can have the bragging rights for the introductory post! The glove was just hanging there on the branch and I couldn’t resist it. Hmm…Alex Sez, eh? I’ll talk to the dogs about your idea and see what they think.

Looks good!  Bye-bye old blog!  If ‘Alex Sez’ is for all the animals, don’t forget to consult with E-Bay!  grin  I have a feeling Bella will be upset that Alex’s name is on the blog - she always wants all the attention.

Hi Lynne, I haven’t been here for quite awhile but I am going to make up for it.  I will have a lot of catching up to do. I really like your weather station and it will be fun to see the difference in N.J. and Colo.  I am also going to check out your recipes.

Looking good.  Just been to check out the recipes.  Cinnamon rolls ...... mmmmm smile

C, Glad you like the new look. I think my sister (knowing Alex so well) was going on the fact that Alex talks the most out of all the dogs. eBay might have a voice in the blog (if it existed and that remains to be seen) and Bella would surely be jealous as she is a scene stealer for sure, but Alex is the old man so I think Alex Sez is a good name for a yet-to-be-determined blog!

Donna, Hello there! I’m sure your temps in Laramie will always be lower than ours! Yet, it can be fun to see the varying weather for sure. I hope to see you back here again soon. We miss that lovely place on Earth!

Liz, thanks! You went straight to the cinnamon rolls, eh? That recipe came from a very good friend of mine and I remember her baking them very fondly as we awaited a litter of puppies from my stud dog to be born. Thanks for visiting!

Poor lost glove. Lost gloves always look so sad. :(

As I mentioned on the previous post, I love the new look. Bravo! I like the weather station, too—that’s a cool feature.

Thanks for the reassurance re. the amaryllis!

Steve, I know. This one was just hanging there waiting to be claimed by its owner. So glad you like the new look. We’ve had the weather station forever but it’s been on Rick’s site and you had to know how to navigate there, recipes too.  I hope your amaryllis bloom!
