Yesterday’s backyard sunrise.
I’m not sure why but there is something about this time of year that turns the sky pink at dawn. We have quite a few of these blushy sunrises.
I will be going through separation anxiety today as Rick returns to work after being home for the entire holiday. He probably won’t work all day, but still. Then one more day of holiday time and normal life returns. Our garbage pickup day will go back to normal having been interrupted twice by holidays falling on our usual day, the Christmas decorations will come down and be packed away for another year. (At least the inside ones will. The outside decorations are frozen in place right now.)
We don’t have any plans for New Year’s Eve. Most years we are in bed asleep when the clock strikes midnight. I expect to raise a glass or two of champagne before that though.
Whatever your plans are tonight, stay safe! Happy New Year everyone!
Happy New Year to both of you! Got some food from my favorite Indian restaurant which I had for lunch and will have more for dinner! I’m usually up until midnight most nights anyway, so probably will be for tonight too, even if I’m in bed just reading a book. See you next year!

What a beautiful sunrise you captured. Ours are a bit rosy, too, as are sunsets(not that I always see either of them them but still!)
Love the snow “drifts” on the rock garden. At least I think it’s the rock garden.
Happy New Year!!

C, Same to you!
Bigsis, Thank you! It really is only this time of year that we see those skies. Glad you liked the pics, and yes, that is the rock garden next to the pool.

Happy New Year! Two great shots but that snow drift shot is outstanding. You certainly got hit while we had almost nothing here in central NJ. Maybe Mom Nature is being kind after what she did to us with Hurricane Sandy? AND a photo shoot would be awesome…I just need to get my timing down between work and caring for my mom…we will keep it in mind! Happy New Year to you and yours!

I love these photos, particularly the sunrise. It’s interesting how the sky gets pink/purple in the winter. Must have something to do with the low angle of the light.
Have a GREAT 2013, Lynne! Here’s to more happy blogging!

Thanks, Steve! I had to be quick because the pink color did not last long. Maybe it is the angle.
Same to you!
