We may not have any snow right now, but it’s sure been cold this week. Yesterday didn’t get above 16 degrees F. Add to that the cold wind and we had wind chills of well below zero. BRRRRRRRR! If the moisture ever lines up with the cold fronts we will be in trouble. This time of year, especially without any snow on the ground, it’s a pretty boring world photography-wise. I did find something of interest though. Ice on the small stream that runs behind our house!
First: the ice paintings.
Now for the sculptures:

We still have snow on the ground. And it’s cold. Sunshine sometimes, but cloudy often. I am over winter already.
I meant to wish you happy birthday last post and see I overlooked doing that. Hope it was a good one!
Happy New Year, too.

Made me think about all the “pretty stuff” I probably miss as I am rushing around. Maybe we should all try to slow down in the new year and “smell the roses” or really take the time to look at the ice wrapping its arms around the branches…its a thought…a pretty thought… Thanks for making me think! Happy New Year!

These are amazing pictures. It is fascinating the beautiful things that come from something so cold.

Thank you all! I am always on the lookout for things to photograph. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t!
Becky, no problem. At my age birthdays aren’t that a big a deal anymore.
Joyce, Happy New Year to you too in Scotland! I wish you had a blog so I could comment ...
Debra, always glad to be of help in noticing the “little” things of life. They are usually what makes the day for me.
Donna, I’m glad I photographed the ice yesterday because now it’s covered by snow and the temps are up, so no more ice! Here today ... gone tomorrow.
