My fig tree is just starting to leaf out and already has baby figs coming! Right now we are alternating its inside vs outside time because we are still having some nights that threaten to dip below the freezing mark. I don’t want to risk the new leaves or the baby figs getting nipped!
Photo taken yesterday against the backdrop of the garage door while it spent the day sunning outside. Taken again with the Lensbaby.
truly amazing how a 1/2 dead looking tree can come to life. How do you know when they are ripe? I lost a few last year because I let them go too long.

Maggie, when they are ripe they pull away easily from the stem. Plus they take on a lovely brown color. We’ve taken them off carefully before they were fully ripe and let them ripen the rest of the way in the house. Last year they started coming ripe around the first few weeks of September.

Welcome to the world baby fig! So cute—almost too cute to eat, except I love them. I guess they won’t be ripe in July?

Bigsis, no they won’t be ripe in July. But for sure in early September when you’re back!
