Last night we took our first after-dark swim. I don't know why we waited so long. It was a muggy evening and the pool temp was perfect. The cicadas have started up their scratchy song—finally. This summer has been such an odd one weather-wise that I wondered if they were not liking all our coolish days and nights. They seem to like it best when it's humid. We saw one huge bat fly over several times. At least we saw one, but I remember those days when we had so many.
It's nights like this that I will miss when we move back to Colorado in a couple of years. The pool, the cicacadas, the bats, the sheer perfection.

Yeah!!!! Pool lights, finally. I swear I would be out there all the time if I had that beautiful setting.
Moving back to Colorado? Only for summers, right or did I miss something?

Yeah!!! Pool party lights at last! Thank you for the pretty photo. Love that it is just for me!!!
If I had that in my back yard I would be camped out there during the summer for sure.
Aren’t you retiring to Colorado for just the summer months, or did I miss something?

Bigsis, Well ... not sure if you missed something or what but we are making Colorado our home base. For sure we are living at the cabin for ONE YEAR, including the winter to see how it goes. After that we may travel around with an RV during the nastiest winter months, always returning to the cabin.
And, you get used to the pool and etc after a while!

Colorado will bring its own magic, I’m sure. Which doesn’t mean you won’t miss the New Jersey magic. (And how great that New Jersey HAS magic, because so many people wrongly think it doesn’t!)

Steve, hi there! Oh yes, there is much magic about Colorado, it just doesn’t have fireflies, cicadas or the pool!
