I know, I know. Most people don’t like spiders. I don’t really either, but this one had a message for me: find the good things in life and smile.

I had to marvel at this magnificent web. I was caught in its spell with the early morning sunlight streaming through it. The most perfect spider web I’ve ever seen. Such a work of art! A shame that this very same evening we had a big thunderstorm and the next morning when I went out to check it was only to find it washed away.

We say spiders are lucky to have around. The old wives tale says not to kill one or else it will rain.
Besides they catch a lot of mosquitoes and blackflies.
I don’t know if you have blackflies down there or not. That is one bug I hate!

i like spiders - i’d sooner not handle the really really big ones, but don’t mind the little ones. Only for their own protection of course, not just for fun! anyway - great photos. I’ve been wanting to photograph some webs, but we seem a bit short of them this summer. They are amazing.
