So far, so good.

1.
Take the canoe out on Green Turtle Pond.
CHECK!

A stop at Jessie’s Deli for a pre-paddle breakfast New Jersey style: Taylor ham-egg-and cheese-on a hard roll. (Taylor ham is special to New Jersey and the closest thing I can think of to it would be Spam!)

On the pond the water was like a mirror.

This Great Blue Heron was enjoying the pond as well.

3.
Camp out Saturday night on the air mattress in the cabana by the pool.
NOT YET! It looks like maybe some rain is headed our way so we might have to postpone.

4.
Hopefully swim some.
CHECK! After lunch, 30 lengths of the pool in 75 degree water.

5.
Maybe dress up in our renaissance garb and head to the Ren Faire.
STILL TO BE DECIDED UPON! Check back tomorrow.

Comments:

Love the great blue heron. You caught him in a perfect moment as he took off, and he’s so sharp!

I had never heard of Taylor Ham before I lived in New Jersey. I think it’s like Canadian Bacon, isn’t it? Anyway, I didn’t much like it!

Steve, I tracked him from the moment he took off and this was the best shot of the bunch.

I had never heard of Taylor Ham before either. No, I wouldn’t call it Canadian Bacon, it’s more compressed than that. The texture is pretty much Spam and the taste is hard to explain. Weird stuff! I only eat it in these yummy breakfast sandwiches, otherwise I give it a wide berth.

Was going to say ‘shame on you for disturbing the heron’, but then you wouldn’t have gotten the great shot of his taking off with those long legs trailing behind.  grin  Looks a little hazy but very peaceful.  Not sure I know what Prosecco is.  What does it taste like?

C, well we didn’t get that close before he took off. I did have my zoom lens on. smile Funny legs, aren’t they? Yes, very hazy and not a pretty sky at all but still a nice paddle around. Prosecco is champagne, but from Italy. Since only France can call “champagne” Champagne” everyone else has to call it something different. Prosecco tends to be lighter with fewer bubbles.

The lake looks perfect for boating - very peaceful.  We have quite a number of herons on our river banks - they are a strange looking bird - I love how you have captured your heron in flight.  The figs look delicious.
