Wildflowers: 1

This time of year there are plenty of beautiful wildflowers to behold. We are lucky that many different varieties bloom on our land. We have a varied environment for them to thrive in; everything from sage meadows to deep woods. Here a few that are now blooming.

and my very favorite, the elusive Fairy Slipper (also called Calypso Orchid) which is endangered. It blooms down by Bart’s Creek in the moist woodsy soil.

Yea for fairy slippers!  I have seen them about twice in the 11 years I have been here, and I look for wildflowers!

By the way, I will be north of Manhattan, Kansas, not NY!

Don’t see those around here. Such vibrant colors!
ONE MORE DAY!

oh my god these photos are gorgeous!1 I have never seen some of these flowers before—and they grow WILD where you are?!  wow—utterly fabulous—thank you so much for sharing them!!

So glad you’re up high - above it all! Yeah. Love the fairy slippers and all the pics.

Your cabin looks very posh. The stove is amazing. You “sound” better than you have in awhile. Am I reading the tone of your posts right?

So glad you’re enjoying summer. Much love to you.

Becky, fairy slippers are so elusive! I just love them. I thought you meant Kansas, but wasn’t completely sure!

Luke, nope, you sure don’t.

Elizabeth, yes, they grow wild here. Amazing, aren’t they? In July we will have a whole different bunch too.

Reya, not posh, but certainly with all the comforts as long as the sun shines and keeps our batteries charged! I think with the house sold (finally) it really has helped my outlook. The cabin is always good for recharging my own internal batteries as well.

what beautiful pictures.

i’m so proud of my few siberian iris - and they grow wild there! just lovely
