A tiny trickle of water runs alongside the forest path. I found the patterns in the ice fascinating. If you look closely you can see what the water was doing when it became imprisoned. Delicate frosty fingers at the edges, little eddies and swirls; all held captive. Can you see the outline of a bird in the last photo?

Katie, thank you! I have a digital Canon Rebel XSi. I go between a normal lens and a zoom for zeroing in on tiny stuff or when I want to blur the background out. Most of these shots were taken with a normal lens. I never photoshop my images, but sometimes I will tweak the exposure or contrast in iPhoto a bit. What you see is basically what I saw!

Thanks for the camera info Lynne! I’ve been eyeing up the Canon Rebel, I figured with tax season coming up, I might have to splurge with some of my refund. I spend all my money on diapers now, a Mama can spoil herself sometimes
