...FIRST WIDESPREAD ACCUMULATING SNOW OF THE SEASON LIKELY ON
THURSDAY AND THURSDAY NIGHT...
A STRONG PACIFIC STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE OVER THE ROCKIES AND HIGH
PLAINS EARLY THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH FRIDAY. THIS SYSTEM WILL
BRING THE FIRST WIDESPREAD ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL TO SOUTHEAST
WYOMING AND THE WESTERN NEBRASKA PANHANDLE, ALONG WITH THE
COLDEST TEMPERATURES OF THE SEASON SO FAR.
ALTHOUGH SOME UNCERTAINTY EXISTS REGARDING THE TRACK OF THE STORM
AND RESULTANT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS, CONFIDENCE IS INCREASING THAT
MOST LOCATIONS WILL SEE SOME SNOW ACCUMULATION. IN ADDITION,
STRONG NORTH TO NORTHWEST WINDS WILL ACCOMPANY THE FALLING SNOW,
LEADING TO BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF SNOW ALONG WITH REDUCED
VISIBILITIES. VERY COLD TEMPERATURES WILL SETTLE INTO THE AREA
THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT, WITH LOWS DURING THIS TIME
LOOKING TO DROP INTO THE TEENS AND SINGLE DIGITS.
FOLKS TRAVELING ACROSS THE AREA, AND OUTDOOR ENTHUSIASTS SUCH AS
HIKERS AND HUNTERS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR WINTER CONDITIONS.
RANCHERS, PREPARE YOUR LIVESTOCK NOW FOR SNOW AND VERY COLD
TEMPERATURES.
STAY TUNED FOR ADDITIONAL UPDATES OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.
