Ingredients:
2-1/2 cups all purpose flour, plus some for dusting 1 tsp. salt 1 tbs. sugar 4 tsp. baking powder 1 pint heavy whipping cream |
Instructions:
1. Mix all dry ingredients in bowl. 2. Add the heavy cream and stir until the dough comes together. 3. Turn out on floured cutting board and knead a few times, adding flour if sticky. 4. Roll out into 6 x 8 rectangle. Fold in half and roll out again. Repeat 2 or 3 times. The final rectangle should be about 1" thick. 5. Cut final rectangle into 12 pieces. Be sure to cut straight up and down with a large knife. Don't "saw" to cut. 6. Put the biscuits on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Cover with plastic wrap and freeze. 7. Place frozen biscuits in a zip lock bag and keep in the freezer for up to 3-4 months. 8. To prepare: take out whatever number of biscuits you want to cook. Preheat oven to 400°F. The biscuits should only thaw as long as it takes to preheat the oven. Place biscuits on a sheet pan and bake 18-22 minutes until risen and golden on top. |
