3 cups water 1-1/3 cups steel-cut oats, prefer McCann’s 1/4 tsp. salt 2 tbs. dried fruit or 1/4 cup fresh 1/4 cup skim milk 2 tbs. light brown sugar or pure maple syrup |

Instructions:

1. Combine oats and water in medium saucepan, cover, and leave out overnight. 2. Add the salt and bring to a boil. Partially cover and cook over medium heat about 5 minutes, stirring often, until oatmeal is creamy but still chewed. Add the dried or fresh fruit and milk during the last minute of cooking. Stir in the brown sugar or maple syrup and serve. |
