2 cups sifted flour 1-1/3 cups sugar 2-1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1/2 cup Crisco 1 cup milk (almost) 1-1/2 tsp. vanilla 2 eggs Baking apples Cinnamon/sugar |

Instructions:

1. Beat together and add 2 eggs; beat again. If batter is a little thin you can add about 5 tablespoons more flour. Spread in oblong pan (9x13), well greased and floured. Place slices of apples (not too thin) on top of dough and very close together. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. 2. Bake at 350°F for 35 minutes or until good and brown all over. |
